Doodles in the moonlight

I see the sky dark, gleaming with stars bright,

a breeze of air around, making me cold in the night.

The tree nearby sways, moving side to side,

where a screeching owl settles, taking hide.

I pause and close my eyes to listen to that night-

crickets adding their score, a rhythm hidden from sight.

There’s an intruder here; a lapwing warns his friends

that someone has arrived where their darkness blends.

The owl or me who truly doesn’t belong?

But then appears another patroller, siren-song,

of police van cutting through the calm tonight,

as bird-guards watching over their flight.

I step back through pixelated netting, seeing clear,

this borrowed world, this night I hold so dear,

A plane crosses overhead with blinking light,

another flock, another way to claim the night.

I wave to travelers soaring through that sky,

whether feathered wings or metal vessels fly,

All share this canvas, all patrol and roam,

the night stays still and calm, as I watch from home.

The moon observes us all with patient, knowing eyes-

the greatest watcher dwelling in the skies.

Teachers-"Brightness in life". First Poem by Varun Joshi

Teachers - The brightness in life

The clarity you gave to me,

It shone like angel rays,

Like water rushed on golden sands,

And crashed along the bays.

It takes a special person,

to teach a child in class,

 To just keep his attention,

In a world that moves so fast.

With special gift for learning,

And with a heart that deeply cares,

You add a lot of love,

To everything you share.

You didn't teach from Books,

You taught from pages of your life,

You didn't teach just

Wordproblems or letters,

You taught me how to deal with strife.

I am happy that you are my teacher,

I enjoy each lesson and your preach,

As my rolemodel you inspire me to,

dream to work and reach.

This is Varun writing his first poem from bottom of his heart,

for all his teachers who will never be apart from his heart.
